The MacGill Summer School was founded forty years ago in the small town of Glenties in County Donegal to honour the memory of local writer, Patrick MacGill. It has grown over four decades to one of the most important fora in Ireland and a source of innovative and fresh thinking on a wide range of social, economic and political issues and developments.
Since 2020, the Curiosity Studio has supported the delivery of the MacGill Summer School digitally and curated a brand new format connecting audiences with global thought leaders. Our work has expanded engagement to new audiences both national and international.
We have featured global speakers including, former UN High Commissioner for Refugees Mary Robinson, WHO Executive Director Dr. Mike Ryan, Former UK Foreign Minister David Miliband, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Oxford Louise Richardson, Economist Intelligence Unit Europe Director Joan Hoey and Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin.
